Just as all six-and-a-half-footers aren’t great basketball players, all great basketball players don’t have to be six feet plus either. Spud Webb, who played professional basketball in the NBA for more than a decade in the eighties and nineties, proved that “short men CAN jump” when he won the NBA Slam Dunk Contest in 1986, during which he was recorded making a 42″ jump, higher than any other competitor. At a time when the average height of a professional basketball player was 6’7″, Webb, who stood a full foot shorter at 5’7″, beat the odds and excelled in his dream of becoming successful at a professional sport where height is normally a determining factor.
For most people who consider themselves to be below “normal” height, being short is a fact of life that can often perpetuate a negative self-image. While it may be most important to guys, since Western culture makes shortness a definite negative in many respects for men, it can also have a detrimental effect on women too.
While it’s true that being a short girl is typically not a factor in a woman’s self-image, if a woman is attracted to taller men she may be eager to add some extra inches to put herself in closer proximity to the object of her desire. For women to add height is generally easier than for men, since shoes with two- or three-inch heels are commonplace. These types of shoes, though, are generally more formal in appearance and not suitable to casual use or during sport or physical activities.
The easiest and most comfortable solution to adding some height to your frame are the comfortable shoe lifts called LiftKits. LiftKits are orthopedically designed shoe insoles to make you taller and are available for both men and women. The height increasing insoles for women, lovingly referred to as LiftKits for Chicks, can add one inch or more, and this is before adding the additional height gained from whatever heels are being worn. One nice thing, though, is that these lifts can be worn with casual or sports shoes, enabling the wearer to maintain that additional height gain regardless of the activity in which they are engaged.
The Internet is full of information on ways to increase height. Some are geared toward actual height gains and include guidance on diet, exercise, supplementation and even surgical procedures. Much easier than stressing and stewing on actually becoming taller, however, are the many ways to simply LOOK like you’ve increased in height. Employing LiftKits is by far the simplest means.
